[In]visible Technology
20 years driving global transformation
Until September 27, 2026
PALAU ROBERT, BARCELONA
[In]visible Technology highlights the paradigm shift that has taken place over the past twenty years: initially, the world was filled with devices; today, it is shaped by invisible infrastructures. MWC Barcelona has accompanied and catalysed this transformation, becoming a meeting point where the technological future is explored and built; a future that is neither written nor predetermined, but one that is shaped by the debates and decisions made collectively.
The exhibition presents a journey in three acts, inviting visitors to rethink technology: from seeing it as an object, to understanding it as a system, and ultimately, to participating in it collectively.
A free-entry exhibition by Mobile World Capital Barcelona and the Government of Catalonia.

20 years of technological transformation
Over the course of this journey, MWC Barcelona has evolved from being a showcase for technological innovations and trends into a meeting point that has helped position Barcelona and Catalonia as places where the world’s digital future is explored, shaped and projected.
The exhibition brings the concept of “[in]visible Technology” to the public through the transformation that technology has driven over recent years. Today, behind almost every action we take, there is a technological structure that makes it possible. Technology is no longer embodied in a specific device, as it was in the past; instead, it has become a layer that permeates everything. It is an infrastructure that may be invisible at first glance, yet it is defining the way we live.
This is where the exhibition’s concept, “[In]visible Technology”, originates: technology is everywhere, yet it is becoming increasingly imperceptible.

A technological world: what it was, what it is, what it will be?
The exhibition is organised into three thematic sections. The [in]visible Technology experience is built around the evolution of technology and its impact on society.
It takes shape through objects that transport us back to the world of twenty years ago and through the infrastructures that now support the technology we use every day—almost invisible, yet ever-present.
The world became connected
As visitors move through the exhibition, they discover how Barcelona has become one of the places where this technological transformation is designed and brought into view. Since the arrival of MWC Barcelona, the city has established itself as a meeting point where innovations are unveiled, standards are set, and decisions are made that influence the development of the digital ecosystem.

The world becames data
The exhibition also presents initiatives promoted by Mobile World Capital Barcelona together with a range of collaborators, alongside other significant examples from today’s technological ecosystem. They demonstrate how technology has evolved beyond being merely a supporting tool and now plays an active role in interpreting and organising the world around us.

The future is not written
[In]visible Technology concludes by opening up collective debates and decisions, inviting visitors to share an idea, an intuition, a hope, or a perspective on the future.
